Sabrina in Sydney - Part 4, A Perfect Day in Manly & Shelley Beach

For Sunday, Sabrina had planned to give the Fraeulein a tour of her Sydney 'hood - Manly.

Fortunately the Fraeulein had cleared her dinner plates every night, so the weather gods bestowed the most glorious weather upon us... ;)

While we had passed the "ferry" beach side of Manly several times (lovingly referred to as "the office" by locals), I had yet to discover the "proper" beaches.

So after returning the rental car we'd used to reach the Blue Mountains the previous day, we made on foot to soak up as much sunshine and frangipani fragrance on our way to breakfast and the beach...

Which did not disappoint!

We meandered along the Manly 'corso'...

Stopping by Ben&Jerry's - where I stuffed my face with ice cream - while Sabrina stuck to sunshine :)

Which quite frankly could've been enough, as it made the shades of blue pop so much, it looked almost surreal!

We continued along the walkway to Shelley Beach (seen here tucked away in the distance)...

Not before some fun with the locals (disclaimer: obviously inappropriate in real life ;) ...

...taking in the stunning vistas...

...and getting distracted/caught checking out the local talent :P

Whereas Sabrina only had eyes for her local rock pool - of which she was rightly chuffed with herself, for having landed in a neighbourhood with that on her doorstep...

...And right she is, because girl - you've earned it! Take it all in! :)

To celebrate our reunion, friendship, and the fact we made it out of bed after dancing until 2am the night before, to experience such a stunning day - a toast was called for...

An Aperol Spritz from The Boathouse in Shelley Beach.

And while it was the dearest Aperol Spritz I've ever had, and took half a lifetime to arrive - the goblets that arrived were bloody worth it - judge for yourself:

Gosh, I am getting thirsty just looking at it! The winning element for me being the mini-popsicles made from blood orange/grapefruit juice instead of just regular, watery ice cubes - genius.

A swim and beach snooze followed, before Sabrina treated me to some more of her culinary skills.

This time it was a first for Fraeulein SoulFood: Kraft 3 minute Mac&Cheese! You may laugh, but some Sunday nights just call for carby, starchy goodness, eaten in bed, with a good friend by your side, and Netflix on go. :)

The perfect end, to a perfect, Manly day - merci Sabrina!

Yours truly,
Fräulein SoulFood x
