Ring for Champagne

Once Papa had left, his two lady mice went out to play…

Just kidding! We just went out for a classy drink. Although Mama's leaving me was no reason to celebrate, we went out to celebrate the fact that she had been able to spend a few weeks with me.

One of the many loves that Mama and me share, is our love for Champagne. We had long dreamed of visiting a place where you could push a button and bubbles would magically appear before us.

Thankfully, one such place exists in Munich: the quaint and boutique bar of the 'Hotel Lux'.

The bar has very limited seating and only a few of the "Champagne booths". Generally these are reserved for hotel guests dining there, but the kind staff made an exception and held the table for us until we were done with dinner at our other favourite restaurant the 'Cafe Glockenspiel'.

The barkeepers here really know their stuff, and although the cocktail list stretches over several pages and accommodates practically every cocktail-taste, I prefer to let the barkeeper make suggestions.

Which is also why I don't remember what exactly was in my cocktail in the end, just that it was called something with "Isar Summer" which basically I was already sold on!

Mama had something with rosemary, which obviously got to her head a bit…

While I managed to remain poised as ever.

After a couple of rounds of cocktails, we looked toward the champagne bell…

…but did we dare ring it? Once rung, there would be no returning to the hard liquors!

We did! And promptly, a couple of glasses of the fine golden pearls arrived at our intricately carved table.

After our attempts at clever mirror-selfies had failed pretty miserably…

…we asked the jolly barkeeper to take one for us - a "serious" one! - but we just couldn't really keep it together for long.

Before ringing the bell once again!

A fabulous night with my number one lady.

Yours truly,
